BBC DJ Mark Radcliffe Talk at Regent Street Cinema

Oct012019

Mark Radcliffe discusses the History of Music that Changed the World

The BBC’s award-winning DJ Mark Radcliffe will be hosting an evening celebrating ‘Music that Changed the World’. Mark will take you on a deeply personal exploration into the history of music that changed the world.

Taking place on the 1st October from 6.45pm – 8.00pm, Mark will share the impact that these tracks have had on not just his life, but the world. His talk will span works from vocal legends such as Woodie Guthrie, Gloria Gaynor, Kurt Cobain, Bob Marley, and more.

The Radio 6 legend will be joined by interview extraordinaire Hannah MacInnes of the ‘How To Academy’ to share tales of musical folklore and to pay homage to music’s impact on our culture today.

The evening is inspired by a crossroads in his life when aged sixty, Mark found himself mourning the death of his father and receiving the news that he had mouth and throat cancer.

At this moment, Mark began reflecting on the pivotal tracks in music and how the musicians who wrote and performed them had reached the crossroads that led to such epoch-changing music. From this moment, this fascinating talk was born.

If you’re interested in joining an intimate and open journey through touchstone tracks and exploring the stories behind them, this event is truly not to be missed.
