If you’re looking for things to do this May half term for children, The Langham London is here to help. On the 27th May at 12 noon, the hotel will be welcoming award-winning children’s author and illustrator, Benji Davies, who will be hosting a Children’s Afternoon Tea in partnership with Daunt Books to celebrate and encourage young readers.
Best known for Grandpa’s Island, Grandma Bird and The Storm Whale, Davies will be reading extracts from his most popular work for little ones to enjoy alongside a delectable afternoon tea treat.
The afternoon tea has been created with young minds (and fingers) at the forefront – there is an interactive jigsaw puzzle sandwiches and a cake to assemble into a chocolate dog to play with. Adults likewise will be well looked after, and can enjoy The Langham’s contemporary take on afternoon tea, Seasonal Tea, which uses the finest ingredients to create the tastiest savouries and most delicious patisserie, and is served with an award-winning tea service.
The event will end with budding bookworms taking home a signed copy of Grandpa’s Island, Grandma Bird, or The Storm Whale. There will also be the option to select an alternative book from a specially curated mini library, which caters for readers between 3 and 12 years of age.
The author reading takes place on 27th May 2019 at 12 noon, and requires advance booking. Children’s Afternoon Tea with Daunt Books is available every day from 12 noon until 5.30pm and costs £29.50 per child, while adults’ afternoon tea costs £55 per person.
