Kinoteka Polish Film Festival at Regent Street Cinema

The Kinoteka Polish Film Festival will return to Regent Street Cinema from the 4^th - 7^th April, showcasing a breadth of Polish creative talent. In tandem with this, 2019 is the year to celebrate 101 years of Polish independence, so the festival will bring an impressive array of award-winning films from Poland to London’s West End for four days only.

Sound interesting? Regent Street Cinema will be showcasing contemporary Polish filmmaking more specifically – with the chance to experience the humour of Paweł Maślona’s Panic Attack, the harsh realism of Piotr Domalewski’s Silent Night, or Filip Bajon’s epic costume drama The Butler.

The full roster of films being screened include:

• 4^th April, 19.30: Another Day of Life. The screening will be followed by a Q&A
• 5^th April, 18.30: Pardon. Pardon took home three Golden Lions at the Polish Film Festival, including Best Screenplay and Best Costume Design.
• 5^th April, 20.30: Panic Attack. Panic Attack’s Magdalena Popławska took a Golden Lion at the Polish Film Festival for Best Supporting Actress
• 6^th April, 14.20: Tower: A Bright Day. A directorial debut from Jagoda Szelc, Tower: A Bright Day was nominated at Berlin International Film Festival and won a handful of Golden Lions at the Polish Film Festival, including Best Debut Director.
• 6^th April, 16.30: Silent Night. Piotr Domalewski’s debut won 16 accolades in Poland, including Best Film at the Polish Film Festival (2017) and Best Film at the Polish Film Awards. It also won The Polish Academy Award for Best Film Screenplay
• 6^th April, 18.30: Playing Hard. Kinga Dębska’s latest film was nominated for Best Film at the Polish Film Festival.
• 6^th April, 20.20: 7 Emotions. Followed by a Q&A
• 7^th April, 12.00 for the children’s workshop followed by screening at 13.00: Journey For One Smile. Family friendly workshop with Fun Kids and the Polish Cultural Institute from 12.00
• 7^th April, 15.00: A Cat with a Dog. The film won two Golden Lions for Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor at the Polish Film Festival.
• 7^th April, 17.00: The Butler. The film took home three awards at the Polish Film Festival, including Best Score and Best Make-Up.
• 7^th April, 19.50: Ether. The film premiered at Rome Film Festival, and was nominated for awards at the Polish Film Festival and Camerimage. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Krzysztof Zanussi
