Keeping cool in the heat isn’t always easy, especially in the middle of a city. We’ve put together a few of our favourite suggestions to help you to stay hydrated and make the most of the sunshine
Read below for our top tips:
If you’re feeling thirsty whilst on the go, head to one of Refill London’s locations on Regent Street to refill your water bottle with ease (and for free). Aiming to cut down on the millions of single use plastic bottles that are wasted each year, Refill has made London’s tap water accessible for all. Good news – the water has been subject to more quality checks than your favourite branded bottle – so there really is no excuse. Refill on Regent Street can be found at retailers with Refill London stickers in the window – the likes of Whole Foods, Rapha, tibits and Ergon are already signed up.
Or, if you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, aqua nueva’s rooftop bar is a sanctuary in the sky. Boasting incredible views over the West End below, a refreshing tipple will soon leave you feeling revitalised – such as the El Toro: an aqua signature cocktail that tastes of summer with Tanqueray No. Ten gin, fig liqueur, passion fruit syrup, lemon, tonic, Angostura bitters and a mango foam. You can also order Spanish tapas to stave off any hunger pangs.
If it’s a cool bite to eat that you’re looking for, we recommend the Chef’s Sashimi Omakase platter at Sakagura. Offering a delicious array of tuna, salmon, seabass, octopus and yellowtail sashimi, sushi aficionados will appreciate the depth of flavours that this light dish has to offer. You can even enjoy it under the shade of their outdoor terrace.
And for dessert – how about a refreshing sorbet? Head to new opening Grom Gelato for authentic Italian gelato. Creating gelato free from aromas or colouring agents, Grom uses the best quality raw materials to create its mouth-watering ices, so they are sure to cool you down and taste delicious.
For those who just really can’t handle the heat – ICEBAR London is your best bet. The only permanent bar in the UK to be made from crystal clear natural ice, the temperature stays at a frosty -5°C whatever the season. A £40 tickets guarantees an ice cocktail on arrival, as well as a cape and gloves for your 40 minute session.
