With many great things to come to Regent Street in 2019, keep reading to discover just a taste of what you can expect.
Regent Street's 200th Anniversary
2019 marks the 200th Anniversary of the naming of Regent Street and we’re looking forward to celebrating in style throughout the year. We are proud of our heritage as the world’s first shopping street, and to mark the momentous occasion we’re working on a number of activities that will take place along the length of the street, with our stores, restaurants, hotels and guest partnerships.
We hope that Londoners and visitors alike will join us in marking this special year – so make sure you keep checking here for further details.
New Openings
In 2019 we will be welcoming a number of leading global brands to the street. Regent Street’s second Parisian offering, Sandro, which already carries the full collection of women’s fashion and accessories looks forward to welcoming its men’s collection. Foodies will be intrigued to discover Neat Meat, who will be bringing their eco-friendly plant based burgers to Central London this summer. Also set to open in 2019 is the eagerly awaited Microsoft flagship store.
Just Opened
We've already seen a number of new stores open so far this year: H&M Home opened a concept store in April, a stunning space complete with an in-store cafe and florist. In addition, Italian fashion brand Pinko moved in and now calls 100 Regent Street home. Ziggy Green opened on Heddon Street and is now sharing their Australian-brunch style fare with Londoners and visitors alike.
What's On
The start of 2019 will begin with all things wellness – to help you to start the New Year feeling your best self. This will then move into an arts & culture dedicated series of events and activities set to hit the street before spring is in full swing.
This March, Regent Street and St James's will join forces to debut 'Show in the Dark'; an evening of arts and culture that shines a light on an array of unique artists. Taking place on the 14th March, further details can be found here.
For summer, we will see the return of our favourite events such as traffic-free Sundays in July for Summer Streets. September is always a month to look forward to, when we celebrate all things fashion and design with incredible talks, workshops and more to highlight the breadth of fashion and design in the heart of the West End.
As always, the end of the year will see the return of the festive season, with our iconic Christmas lights returning and a host of special Christmas activities happening across the street. With last year's switch-on boasting the talented British singer Calum Scott, Doctor Who icon Jodie Whittaker and the stunning voices of the cast of Dreamgirls, it’s definitely a date to hold in your diaries.
